HVAC Duct (Rectangular, Round, Spiral)
The sheet metal infrastructure that moves air through every commercial building. Seam-locked rectangular, lock-seam round, and spiral.
HVAC duct production (SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards) covers three profile families: rectangular duct on lock-forming roll lines with Pittsburgh, TDC, or TDF flanges; round duct on spiral or lock-seam lines; and the connectors, hangers, and stiffeners that tie the system together.
TEKFAB engineers HVAC duct lines for sheet metal shops scaling from job-shop to industrial volume. The two economic levers are scrap rate and changeover time: scrap drops when the line punches and slits in line rather than in a separate operation, and changeover drops when the line is recipe-driven, not shim-driven.
On the rectangular side, our Light Gauge Structural envelope handles the 18–26 ga range SMACNA standard duct calls for, with Pittsburgh and TDC/TDF flange forming running in line with the main mill. On the round side, lock-seam profiles fit our Custom Roll Forming envelope; spiral is a separate seam-locking architecture.
