Rail & Transit Components
Rail car floor cross members, side wall sections, roof framing, and vestibule structure. Long-length structural roll forming for freight, passenger, and transit vehicles.
Rail car body construction uses cold roll forming for the long structural sections that make up floor cross members, side wall framing, roof bows, and the vestibule transition structure. The engineering case is the same as heavy trailer: open structural sections, longer than stamping allows, heavier gauge than CFS framing, and tighter tolerance than basic mill product.
TEKFAB engineering for this market sits on the Heavy Gauge Structural envelope, with custom multi-pass tooling. The line geometry is similar to a PEMB or trailer build, with the punch and cutoff sized to rail-vehicle hole patterns and length distributions.
