Press Punch & Cutoff Systems

The carriage that lets a press keep up with the mill. Patented closed-loop flying punch and cutoff.

Featured technology

ACCU-RACK™: the fastest punching system in the strut industry.

US Patent 11,318,546

Up to 5 hydraulic punch press modules and 1 cutoff press are mounted on a single rigid carriage riding precision linear bearings. As rollformed strip exits the mill, the carriage accelerates to match line speed, holds position while the dies fire, and decelerates back to home. The line never stops. The hole goes exactly where the recipe said it would.

Closed-loop position feedback keeps hole-to-hole tolerance independent of mill speed. That is the difference between a press that runs and a press that holds tolerance.

A rotary punch is the right tool when the pattern is light, simple, and repeating. A press is the right tool when the hole is big, the gauge is thick, the section is heavy, or the tolerance has to hold across a full-length cut part.

The TEKFAB post punch and cutoff system puts both functions on one moving platform. Up to five hydraulic press modules handle the punching, a sixth station handles the cutoff, and a hydraulic accumulator feeds them all so the cycle does not starve. The platform rides linear bearings precise enough that the press never argues with the mill it sits downstream of.

How the carriage stays in sync

A press that keeps up with the mill, not the other way around.

Conventional flying-cutoff systems make compromises. Either the carriage rides on cam followers and accuracy drifts with wear, or the press loses position when the mill accelerates. ACCU-RACK was engineered around both of those failure modes.
